The Departed by Dead Rebel

Invite a participant into a quiet Victorian tale of remembrance, then reveal a word they chose only in their thoughts. The Departed by Dead Rebel builds to a second moment of mystery, as a name emerges at the position matching a number the participant silently remembered.

Set in the world of spiritualist traditions and the Summerland, this story-driven mentalism piece unfolds through aged photographs and a séance journal. Its calm, intimate tone makes the performance feel like the discovery of personal artefacts, not a theatrical spectacle.

• Two revelations: Reveal a privately chosen word, then uncover the name William at the thought-of number.
• 26 replica cabinet photographs: The aged images, recreated from genuine antique originals, give the story its evocative centre.
• Period-inspired details: An aged glassine envelope and Clara Wren’s séance journal entry, dated November 1890, deepen the Victorian setting.
• Clara Wren photograph: A small cabinet photograph of Miss Clara Wren adds another personal artefact to the presentation.
• Two reveal formats: A downloadable audio revelation is included as an alternative to the written reveal.

Everything is housed in an aged presentation box and intended to be performed as a complete piece. Let the journal and photographs set a hushed mood for an intimate mentalism performance built around memory, loss, and an unexpected connection.
