Mental Deceptions Vol. 2 by Rick Maue - DVD

Give your close-up or stand-up set a mentalism piece that feels personal and impossible. On Mental Deceptions Vol. 2, Rick Maue shares signature work, unreleased material, and effects from his working repertoire, built around familiar items rather than expensive gimmicks.

• Beyond the Witching Hour: A spirit communication piece that also teaches a useful watch-hand move.
• The Final Picture: A versatile routine Rick has performed more than any of his other creations, suited to stage, close-up, seance, or impromptu settings.
• Animal Instincts and In the Neighborhood: Explore a close-up prediction based on human instincts and a card-free take on “Out of This World.”
• Abstract Extraction and Defining the Difference: Make brainwaves seem visible and present a piece about the distinction between a magician and a mentalist.
• Focus / Sixth Sense Symbols and The Journey: Learn a three-phase mind-reading routine and a versatile stand-up piece, alongside interviews with magician Francis Menotti.

The material is described as requiring no sleight of hand, and many effects use everyday objects such as envelopes, poker chips, paper, and playing cards. The practical props and range of performance settings make this DVD a useful source of mentalism for building out different parts of your set.
