451 by Josh Zandman

With 451 by Josh Zandman, a spectator opens the paperback to any page, silently chooses a word, and reads its sentence to herself. You reveal her word without asking questions, hearing it, or needing its first letter.

• Any word, any page: The spectator freely chooses a word, and you reveal it without guessing or missing.
• Super Flashback: Reveal the first word on any page without seeing it.
• Tossed Out Book: Toss 451 into your audience and reveal words freely chosen by five spectators.
• Reverse Book Test: A spectator stops you on any page in another book, and you reveal a word on the same page in 451.
• Pegasus Page: Perform this built-in version of the classic effect in your spectator’s hands from beginning to end.

The core book test gives you a direct, striking moment of mentalism, while the additional routines offer different ways to bring 451 into a performance. Use the tossed-out routine to involve several people at once, or focus attention on one spectator’s freely chosen word.
