The Hummingbirds by Luke Jermay

Make three cards rise from a deck in Luke Jermay’s carefully scripted take on the classic Rising Card effect. The Hummingbirds is designed for a borrowed deck and a glass, giving you a striking piece of card magic to perform with familiar objects.

• Three rising cards: Build a memorable performance around the visual of three cards rising from the deck.
• Borrowed-deck performance: Use any borrowed deck and any glass.
• Freely handled cards: The cards are never connected and can be handled and shuffled throughout the routine.
• Performance guidance: The full performance video and online instructions cover the routine and Jermay’s insights into the Rising Card.

Jermay’s intentional scripting guides the audience through the effect, helping you shape a classic card trick into a complete performance. Add it to a close-up or parlor set when you want a slow-building moment of astonishment.
